A particular delight of
the Golden Eagle is our
two beautifully
appointed restaurant
cars, the venue for our
chefs to serve carefully
prepared meals using
only the finest local
ingredients. Whether it
is the world-renowned
‘Borsch’, caviar or Omul
- a fish unique to Lake
Baikal - we offer a
culinary experience
representing the very
best of Russia.
Our meals are
complimented by wines
from around the world,
as well as, naturally,
vodka!
The social heart of our
train is of course the
bar car, a great place
to relax and settle into
the unhurried pace of
life on board. Unwind in
comfortable surroundings
and watch the world go
by as you get to know
your fellow passengers'
the bar stays open until
the last person leaves.
Gold and Silver Class
cabins on the Golden
Eagle are amongst the
most spacious and
luxurious cabins
available in rail
accommodation anywhere
in the world. They both
contain bunk style beds,
the lower of which is
multi purpose. At 4' 5"
(1.35 m) for Gold (4' or
1.2 m for Silver) this
double bed is converted
into a comfortable sofa
by your friendly cabin
attendant on a daily
basis. The cabins also
feature state of the art
facilities which include
a DVD/CD player, LCD
screen, wardrobe,
individual air
conditioning and
en-suite bathroom
facilities which include
a power shower, w.c. and
basin (as well as
bathrobe, slippers
hairdryer and
complimentary
toiletries).
There are two key
differences between Gold
and Silver class for you
to consider when
choosing your cabin
type. Firstly, the size
of the cabin, often a
very important
consideration, as this
will be your home for
14/21 nights. Gold is
77sq ft and Silver is
60sq ft. Secondly, the
bathroom. Gold en-suite
facilities include a
separate shower cubicle
and state of the art
under-floor heating to
make sure your feet are
always warm when walking
on the tiles. The Silver
en-suite is in a 'wet
room' style, which means
that the shower is
within the bathroom but
not in a separate shower
cubicle.
